Vodka Tonic

Ingredients needed to make a Vodka Tonic

2 oz Skyy Vodka
4 oz Tonic Water

Vodka Tonic Cocktail Recipe Directions

Pour this California Vodka over ice. Squirt in lemon from a wedge, then toss the wedge in too. Swirl the glass. Top with tonic water to taste.

MixMaster's Notes

This vodka has a very industrial background. The alcohol is produced from wheat @ a coal burning distillery in Illinois for a Kansas based beverage supply company. Then it is shipped by rail to San Jose, California where it is mixed with de-ionized water and flavoring by a sub-contractor for Skyy Spirits LLC of San Fran, CA. That's Made in the USA for you!

Late to this conversation, but, in actuality, this is the process of vodka creation all around the world -- unless it says potato or some thing more specific. Vodka is a grain neutral spirit and the largest producer of grain neutral spirits in the word is Archer, Daniels, Midland -- they produce it in giant industrial distilleries and ship it via rail to vodka companies (and others) who then do filter it and cut it with water -- the cutting-water/filtration is what gives vodka its (limited) flavor profile (vodka=russian for water). Gin is similar, a flavored, cut, grain neutral spirit. If you see that on a label, think ADM, industrial agriculture, and massive food processin.

Nice product background, but the thought of this whole process saps the desire to keep drinking Skyy.
