I followed @barkeep s instructions but I switched up things a bit by adding less Baileys and using real pumpkin puree. The Baileys flavor was still a bit strong in my drink, but it was tasty.

"Modern Spirits" produces a well-rated Pumpkin Pie Artisan Vodka which may be a nice base in a revamped version of this drink. I agree with Lizzie that the current short variety of "pumpkin Spice Liqueurs" is lacking in quality and true pumpkin flavor. @Bartender
I definitely think there's room to play around with the ingredients in this drink. I bet a pumpkin spice vodka might be nice with a few drops of vanilla extract or even a vanilla bean for garnish.
We have a pumpkin liqueur kicking around the house but it isn't very good.
I happened to have seen a Pumpkin Spice flavored vodka at the store last week.
I love the REAL pumpkin concept by using the puree. I'm starting to believe that Bailey's should only be used as a neat cordial as opposed to a mixer. Though creamy,...it is anything but neutral. Incredible photo Lizzie. (P.S. I've secretly loved the Butterscotch Schnapps since I turned 21,..yummy!)
I make pumpkin pies with real pumpkin puree. Did the puree make it really thick?
This sounds fantastic. I agree with you about the Bailey's, it has a certain flavor that tends to dominate drinks its mixed with. I wonder if a Godiva White Chocolate Liqueur would be more neutral, but serve the same purpose? Amazing trick photography. Hippstamatc?
