Ingredients needed to make a Pegu Club Cocktail
3 oz. Bombay Saphire Gin
1 oz. Cointreau
1 oz. Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
2-4 Dashes Angostura Bitters

Combine ingredients in a shaker over crushed ice, shake it.
Shake it again.
Now pour into a cocktail glass and garnish with a lime wedge.
The original version of this famous cocktail calls for 1tsp. of egg white. Many times you can't get raw egg at a bar but it does make a difference so make sure to add it if you are making this at home.

This is one of the almost long lost classics which is regaining some popularity these days. It was first mentioned in the 1930 Savoy Cocktail Book, in which author Harry Craddock credits the drink to the Pegu Club in Burma. The drink traveled throughout the world and was a hit until World War II. Almost 100 years ago another Pegu Club opened in NYC's West Village but make no mistake, this American club got its name from the well traveled cocktail.
Awesome picture. Simple ingredients, but I've never heard of it. I'm going to try making one this week. Not big on raw egg though. (I don't do fizzes myself, but I've made a few).
This is sort of like a martigarita with emulsification (if you add the egg white). Interesting. great shot!
