Lizziemonster's Notes
In celebration of Derby Day! I prefer Makers Mark for my bourbon of choice. It's important to muddle the mint well as it sweetens up the drink.

Ted: I just use a small amount of soda for muddling. I do love to drink these in the summer- with Derby Day being the kickoff!
Oh, and the photo is the Hipstamatic app for iPhone (which I'm addicted to)! Not sure if it's available for the BB though.

Your pic is so great! I meant to post one of these up on Derby day as well, but got too busy drinking them to grab my camera! Delicious drink, one of the best out there -- how can one beat booze and simple syrup? I leave out the soda water on mine, bourbon, simple syrup and mint. What else can one drink on Derby Day? It's almost mandatory.

CK: haven't you had one at our house before? I think FF made them at Lulu's birthday party last year.

I don't think I've ever had one of these. Sounds yummy, and I love the pic!
