Innis and Gunn Rum Cask aged Scottish beer Cocktail Recipe Directions
Apparently, pour into an old-fashioned glass, as that's how it was served at The Haven Scottish pub/restaurant in Jamaica Plain.
Curiously dark red/brown, yet rather light-bodied, malty, spicy, rum-kissed, bonnie Scottish brew.

This stuff is the real deal! It is popular in New York. You can actually buy it in liquor stores there. I have to check out that restaurant.
Innis and Gunn also make a lovely, clear, caramel colored bourbon cask aged beer. The bourbon essence is more distinct than that of the rum. I would have submitted it, as I preferred it, but the pic I took of it was blurry.
I've not seen this but did see a beer aged in sherry casks at my local packy... will have to give it a go.
Wow! I have NEVER heard of this. It looks great and your description sounds fantastic. Bravo!!
