Honest to Goodness Moonshine

tedvilla's Notes

This is moonshine. Distilled from peaches in WV and served from a recycled gallon water bottle. Smooth and sweet it was drinkable though a bit too sweet. Not my favorite thing ever and definitely changed the trajectory of the evening as it did not agree with me -- despite being drinkable. A short one was more than enough. This is the real McCoy moonshine -- and NOT MINE.

Meant to add the next comment to knob creek single barrel select... Level 8 error.

@bartender this way up there for sure. I like the whole small batch distillery bourbons family like knob creek, baker, basil hayden. I think they are food products but i also feel like they got the micro distillery movement rolling in this country. Prior to these guys it seemed like it was jim jack turkey or grand dad if you wanted american whiskey... After the knob creek guys came the explosion of micro distilleries (far smaller than knob creek etc) and rye and much finer more crafted whiskey from jack and jim etc.

@bartender thanks. I had to try it. It was there and so was i. Definitely not a fave. It made me think about the concoction that GIs drank in WWII as described in thin red line and/or naked and the dead. Kinda gross but it did the trick.
