I'll have to buy another bottle and do a blind tasting to compare... I was actually knocking the "celeb" chef restaurant... how dare they charge me $15 for a single drink and use anything other than top shelf, unless there is a unique quality that does not take away from the rest of the drink? Maybe tanqueray & bombay dominate the drink somehow? Still trying to figure it out :)

Stunning photo. Don't knock Plymouth Gin because of it's price....it's been around forever and gets the job done well. I prefer it over Tanqueray, Bombay(regular), Gordon's, Burnett's, Fleischman's, Booth's, and Seagram's Gins by far.

I actually learned about Plymouth because I had a $15 cocktail in a 'Celebrity' chef's restaurant. I thought it was something special then when I went to buy it I saw the bottle cost less than the cocktail! So I was wondering why people like it. I like Tanqueray for mixed drinks. Henricks for Martinis.

I used Plymouth since that's what I had. I think New Amsterdam would be better. Unless you have a better suggestion?

Love Gimlets... traditionally served with fresh lime or Rose's? I have a bottle in the fridge as standby, in case I don't have fresh. Also, why Plymouth? Just curious :)
